Description of UASB tank

UASB tank is designed with wastewater flow into the tank from bottom to top. Through the activated sludge cushion layer including: small and large sludge particles to increase the contact process between wastewater and sludge, thereby increasing the decomposition process of organic pollutants in wastewater.

The wastewater will be adjusted to maintain pH at 6.6 – 7.6 to ensure good maintenance for the development of anaerobic microorganisms. This water flow will be passed through the supply pipe. Then the entire amount of wastewater will be supplied to the UASB tank at a speed of 0.6 – 0.9m/s.

At that time, the mixture of sludge and wastewater will be in contact with each other and develop biomass. By using the pollutants, microorganisms will form 70% to 80% CH4. This amount of methane will adhere to the sludge and float on the surface with free gas.

In order to separate the gas from the water after treatment, people place inclined panels. Here, the phenomenon of gas – liquid – solid phase separation will occur.

Then, in order to thoroughly treat the amount of gas produced, the gas mixture will be led through the gas burner.

The sludge will then settle due to complete separation of gas. The amount of sludge generated during the treatment process will be periodically pumped out. Thanks to the centrifugal pumps, the sludge is sucked and transferred to the input sludge tank for further treatment.
