What is Mixed Bed Demineralization Technology?

Mixed Bed MBP (Mix-bed polisher) demineralization technology Also known as the Mixed Exchange Water Polishing System, it operates based on the ion exchange method. The system includes Cation and Anion resin beads. These beads, together with wastewater/water supply/well water, participate in the process of exchanging H+ and OH- ions. The H+ and OH- ions are then connected to each other and form pure water molecules. After a period of use, when the resin beads run out of ions to exchange, we need to regenerate the resin beads with chemicals.

Operating principle of Mixed Bed system

In Mixed Bed demineralization, cations and anions are mixed together and contained in a single pressure vessel (column). The mixture of cations and anions forms a mixed-bed column which is equivalent to a long series of two-bed columns. This results in significantly higher water quality from a mixed-bed system than from a two-bed system. Effective in purifying feed water. Mixed Bed demineralization is more sensitive to impurities in the feed water and requires a more complex regeneration process. Mixed-bed systems are often used to treat water to a higher purity after it has been pretreated by a two-bed system or an RO system.

Mixed Bed Pure Water/Distilled Water Demineralization System

The system is designed to produce high quality purified water products. Depending on the specific requirements of the plant, the operation will be adjusted to produce suitable demineralized water products.

Advantages of Mixed Bed technology

–     Capable of treating water sources with hardness up to 150mg/l CaCO3. –     Flexible in expanding and upgrading capacity, ensuring the system runs continuously 24/7. –     Designed to suit industrial production scale. – Low operating costs.

Mixed Bed systems treat demineralized water for applications in the following areas, and more:
