Electrodeionization (EDI)

EDI is an electrochemical process for water purification, a water treatment technology that uses electricity, ion exchange membranes and resins to deionize water and separate dissolved ions (impurities) from water.

EDI replaces the standard acid-base regeneration process. EDI differs from other pure water technologies because the equipment operates without the use of chemicals. And this is a complete post-RO treatment process.

There are also continuous ion exchange electrodialysis (CEDI) types from continuous resin regeneration current. CEDI technology can achieve high purity, with conductivity less than 0.1uS/cm.
