1. What is leachate?
Leachate, also known as leachate, landfill wastewater, is liquid that leaks from landfills and wastewater treatment areas. With a very high concentration of pollution, leachate is often collected in reservoirs for convenient treatment. The problem of leachate treatment according to standards is still facing many difficulties in Vietnam.
According to statistics from the General Department of Environment (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment – TN&MT) by 2020. Vietnam currently has more than 900 domestic waste landfills, of which only 20% are sanitary landfills. This means that waste and leachate treatment is facing many difficulties and challenges.
Leachate has many pollutants with high concentrations. Leachate wastewater treatment is to reduce the concentration of substances in the water, creating a clean water stream that meets discharge standards according to current regulations.
2. The most economical and compact solution for leachate wastewater treatment.
There are many methods for leachate treatment. From traditional technology to modern solutions such as: Microbiological physicochemical method; Biological method; Advanced oxygen treatment method (Fenton, ozone, electrodialysis, electrolysis, …); Membrane technology method; ….
Currently, most membrane filtration technology is applied in clean water treatment. Drinking water filtration system because of its ability to completely remove substances. The filter membrane hole only allows substances with a size smaller than 0.0001 to 0.001 micrometers to pass through. This means that only water molecules remain after the filtration process.
Therefore, the most economical and compact solution for leachate treatment that we want to mention here is RO ROCHEM membrane technology.
3. RO ROCHEM membrane technology for leachate treatment for waste-to-energy plants.
Since the 1970s, RO ROCHEM membrane technology from Germany has been applied in the production of fresh water from seawater on naval ships, warships, etc. This is a pioneering technology in the field of wastewater treatment using membrane technology worldwide.
In addition, membrane technology can be applied in combination with traditional methods. Accordingly, it improves the treatment efficiency and clean water recovery rate.

The advantage of ROCHEM RO membrane technology in leachate treatment is its efficiency. The ability to completely treat harmful substances and can reuse that wastewater for civil activities.
However, membrane technology has a huge disadvantage that requires high technology. And in-depth experience in installation and operation.
4. Leachate treatment service at our company:
Before proceeding with the design, construction and installation plan, we will have a Pilot system for testing. To evaluate the difference between theory and reality, to avoid problems during the implementation process. The content of the Pilot test is specifically explained as follows:
– TVTS will provide the PILOT system, operating techniques, chemicals to the construction site at the factory.
– The cost of transporting the Pilot is borne by the Investor (this cost will be deducted when the two parties sign an official contract).
– The investor arranges support people, forklifts to lower the system, prepares power sources and connects pipes for Pilot operation at the construction site.
– The actual test run on the Pilot system is conducted for 5 consecutive days. To evaluate the quality after processing.
During the first year of system operation. TVTS provides support activities on a basic basis when the investor requests. TVTS staff is always ready to support the investor. Through: phone, fax, via email when the system operation has problems.
TVTS technicians will be present directly at the construction site when necessary. Handle incidents that occur and guide factory staff to fix the problems.
